Hello Dear Goa Flow-er

Goa Flow-er Amy asked me if i could start a Monday Mantra series. I love the request and decided to add Mudra and Meditation to it, as i feel they all work well together.

I will be changing it up; depending on interest, but one week i might offer a combination of the three and another week one of them. Most of the time it will be with text and photo. Sometimes i will share a video, like the one i’m sharing below. Please share with me what you like and over the course of the weeks we’ll find a rhythm.

WHAT IS MANTRA? A mantra is a Sanskrit word repeated over and over again. A mantra has a specific meaning. Mantras are words with vibration and the vibrations can have a healing effect on our mind, body, spirit.

WHAT IS MUDRA? A mudra is a gesture of the hand(s), body or eyes. Each mudra has a specific meaning, just like a Mantra. I think of Mudras as an energy (Prana) seals. It helps to seal, or draw the Prana inside the body.

Mudras can be performed seated, lying down, standing and even walking. They can be performed at any time, any place. The length of time of practicing a mudra depends on the intention and the purpose, it can range from 5 minutes to 45 minutes, one time a day to 3-4 times a day. You stick with a mudra until it has fulfilled its purpose.

WHAT IS MEDITATION? Meditation to me is awareness and calming/focusing the mind. I find it very helpful to use breathing exercises together with Mantras and Mudras to draw awareness to a specific intention that will help to strengthen or balance desired objective within yourself, like the Mudra Meditation for Trust and Self-Confience that i share below here.

I offered this Mudra Meditation a while back, but figured it was worth it to share it again; in case you missed it. In the video above i offer a beautiful 9 minute Mudra Meditation for Self-Confidence and Trust. It’s great to do in the morning to set you off for your day. The more you practice; the more you connect IN to yourself and organically build Trust and Self-Confidence within yourself.

The Mudra is called The Unshakeable Trust Mudra, or in Sanskrit:
Virja Pradama Mudra.

Virja means diamond, or thunder bolt and will bust through any self-doubt you might have.
Pradama means trust and/or self-confidence.
Mudra means ‘seal’ – it’s an energy seal and this mudra is for building trust and self-confidence within you.

Fingers are interlaced and hands are placed over your heart (like the photo above) while repeating this Affirmation a minimum of 3x. You can keep repeating it the entire duration of the meditation if you want to:

I am confident; because i trust in myself.
I am fully supported.

[Even if you don’t believe it at first, repeat and practice until you find yourself believing it].

You can do this meditation first thing when you wake up.
No need to even get out of bed.
Tune in to the video and listen to the instructions.
After the initial intro, it’s 9 minutes of investing in yourself.

Give it a go{a} and let me know how it sets you up for your day.

Sending much trust and self-confidence your way.
See you back here next Monday.

Anita Goa 🙂
